Harlem Globetrotters plan stop at Ocean Center

The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their newly reimagined Spread Game tour to more than 150 cities this year and the Ocean Center is on the list of stops.

Catch all the action in-person at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at 101 N. Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach.

The Spread Game Tour is a basketball event like no other. Ankle-breaking moves, jaw-dropping swag, and rim-rattling dunks are only some of the thrill you can expect from this fully modernized show. Part streetball from the players who defined it, part interactive family entertainment, the new tour will show off the best of the Globetrotters in a dazzling exhibition of talent and game.

Beacon Center Lighting the Way Virtual 5K

You can support survivors of domestic violence locally and raise awareness by participating in a 5K anytime until July 31.

DeBary fall sports

The City of DeBary will offer community sports programs this fall for residents and non-residents, may join. Space is limited.

Youth Soccer League will be Sept. 7 to Nov. 19 at Rob Sullivan Community Park, 200 W. Highbanks Road. Registration will be Aug. 2 to Sept. 3. The cost is $60 per child. Ages are 5-14 (divided into age divisions). Volunteers are needed.

Adult Kickball will be from Sept. 10 to Nov. 12, at Rob Sullivan Community Park. Registration will be July 26 to Aug. 23. The cost will be $350 per team of 10 to 14 players.

Youth Tumbling will be from Sept. 20 to Nov. 10. Registration will be Aug. 2 to Sept. 10. The 3 to 5 year old class will meet Monday evenings. The cost is $30 per child, and parent participation is required. The 6-12 year-old class will meeting Wednesday evenings and is $60 per child.

Little Kickers: Youth Soccer League for ages 3 to 5 will meet each Tuesday from Sept. 29 to Nov. 2, at Rob Sullivan Community Park. Registration is Aug. 23 to Sept. 24. The cost is $30 per child for six sessions.

Little Ballers: Intro to Youth Sports Clinic for ages 3 to 5 will meet each Thursday from Sept. 30 to Nov. 4 at Rob Sullivan Community Park. Registration will be Aug. 23 to Sept. 25. The cost is $30 per child for six sessions.

Senior men's softball

A 50 and older men`s senior softball league is now forming.

Ratings night for new players will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19. The fall season starts Aug. 31.

Games are played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the New Smyrna Beach Sports Complex.
