YSG Community Center activities

Kung-fu and Tai-Chi classes are offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at The Yvonne Scarlett-Golden Cultural and Educational Center, 1000 Vine St., Daytona Beach. The fee is $40 per month.

Open gym for Daytona Beach residents to play basketball is from from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the center.

Daytona Beach pools

The City of Daytona Beach offers swimming pool access at the Campbell Aquatic Center, 400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., and the Cypress Aquatic Center, 981 George W. Engram Blvd.

Cypress has swim hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The daily admission is $3 for adults and $2 for 17 years old and younger.

Campbell has swim hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is $1.

Nova Community Center

Nova Community Center is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at 440 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach.

Pickleball and basketball are offered Monday to Saturday. Basketball is played Sunday.

Reservations are necessary. The cost is free for residents or $4 daily for yearly membership for non-residents.

South Ormond Neighborhood Center

South Ormond Neighborhood Center is open from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 176 Division Ave., Ormond Beach.

The center has baseball fields, outdoor tennis and basketball.

Ormond Beach Tennis Center

Ormond Beach Tennis Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday to Sunday at 38 E. Granada Blvd.

It offers play for members and non-members, and classes seven days a week.

Yoga in the Gallery

Yoga in the Gallery will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, 352 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach.

Meet in the lobby. Class is open to all experience levels. Participants should bring a mat, towel and water. Space is limited and registration is required. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

Senior fitness class

A senior fitness class will meet at 10:30 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday at the Ponce Inlet Community Center, 4670 S. Peninsula Drive.

The class will focus on cardio, strength and balance. Handheld weights, and resistance bands and ball will be used. All equipment provided. Participants should bring a water bottle.

Yoga Classes in the Shores

A new Active Up and Down Chair Yoga class will meet from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Daytona Beach Shores Community Center at 3000 Bellemead Drive.

The class is for those who practice seated and standing poses using a chair for support to help improve balance, posture, energy, breathing, strength, flexibility and relaxation.

The center offers Gentle Yoga classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6 to 7 p.m., and include floor to standing poses.

The cost is $8 per class. Shores residency is not required. Classes are taught by Mardi Williams, a certified yoga teacher.

Senior fitness class

Exercise for the maturing body with Senior Fitness Specialist ️Artie Gardella will meet at noon Fridays at First Baptist Church of Port Orange at 316 Church St.

The Hub on Canal

The Hub on Canal offers a gentle yoga class with Becky Collins from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays at 132 Canal St., New Smyrna Beach.

With a focus on lengthening and breath work, Ms. Collins will lead participants through mild stretching techniques that will help tone the body and de-stress. Beginners are welcome. Suitable for ages 10 and older. Limited to 11 students.

The fee is $10 per class, payable to the instructor.

Red Hot Chili Steppers walking club

Get fit, make new friends, and enjoy the great outdoors with the Red Hot Chili Steppers walking club at Gemini Springs Park, 37 Dirksen Drive, DeBary.

Participants will walk from 9 to 10 a.m. every Wednesday in December.

The free club will be led by Volusia County Recreation Superintendent Matt Coleman.
