Senior fitness class

A senior fitness class will meet at 10:30 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday at the Ponce Inlet Community Center, 4670 S. Peninsula Drive.

The class will focus on cardio, strength and balance. Handheld weights, and resistance bands and ball will be used. All equipment provided. Participants should bring a water bottle.

Gentle Yoga Classes in the Shores

Daytona Beach Shores Community Center is hosting Evening Gentle Yoga classes from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3000 Bellemead Drive.

Classes are taught by Mardi Williams, a certified yoga teacher, and include floor to standing poses to help improve posture, balance, energy, breathing, strength, flexibility and relaxation. The cost is $8.

Participants should bring their own mats, plus straps and blocks if they use props. Shores residency is not required.

Open gym

The Port Orange Parks and Recreation Department is hosting open gym for youth ages 8 to 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Adult open play for basketball and pickleball will be from 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday.

Daytona Beach pools

The City of Daytona Beach offers swimming pool access at the Campbell Aquatic Center, 400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., and the Cypress Aquatic Center, 981 George W. Engram Blvd.

Visitors will have their temperature checked before entrance and should adhere to social distancing.

Cypress has open swim hours from noon to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Lap swimming hours from noon to 2:15 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

The daily admission is $3 for adults and $2 for 17 years old and younger. Discounts are available for swim packages. Cypress is limited to 50 people occupancy.

Campbell has open swim hours from 2 to 5:30 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. Groups are restricted to 10 or less people. Aqua Zumba is offered 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Campbell is limited to 25 people occupancy.

Bathrooms are open at both facilities, but loitering is not allowed.

Nova Community Center

Nova Community Center is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at 440 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach.

Pickleball and basketball are offered Monday to Saturday. Basketball is played Sunday.

Reservations are necessary. The cost is free for residents or $4 daily for yearly membership for non-residents.

South Ormond Neighborhood Center

South Ormond Neighborhood Center is open from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 176 Division Ave., Ormond Beach.

The center has baseball fields, outdoor tennis and basketball.

Ormond Beach Tennis Center

Ormond Beach Tennis Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday to Sunday at 38 E. Granada Blvd.

It offers play for members and non-members, and classes seven days a week.

Yoga in the Gallery

Yoga in the Gallery will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, 352 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach.

Meet in the lobby. Class is open to all experience levels. Participants should bring a mat, towel and water. Space is limited and registration is required. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

Deltona Parks & Recreation is hosting a Saturday Zumba class beginning at the Harris M. Saxon Community Center, 2329 California St.

Shirley Brown of Fun Time Fitness will lead the classes.

Zumba Gold, for children of all abilities, will begin at 10 a.m. Zumba Gold Basic will begin at 11 a.m. and Zumba Gold Toning will begin at noon. There's also a Zumba Gold Chair class at 1 p.m.

Celeste Bull, Certified 300 Hour Precision Alignment Yoga Instructor, is offering free pop up yoga class at 9 a.m. each Saturday at Earl Brown Park, 750 S. Alabama Ave., DeLand.
