Venetian Bay received final approval earlier this month from the New Smyrna Beach Planning and Zoning Board to begin construction of its latest addition.
The development has been given the go ahead to begin Phase 1 and Phase 2 of its Village Center East project.
Phase 1 will consist of four buildings with 76 apartment units and 21,431 square feet of retail space, which will be on the first floors of two of the buildings. Phase 2 will consist of two four-story buildings with 220 condominium units.
“We’ve had this in permitting with the city since 2018,” Christopher Roy, a Geosam Capital regional asset manager, said in an email. “The design of this project will fit in with the rest of the Venetian Bay Town Center.”
The Village Center East site is east of the Town Center building on the east side of Luna Bella Lane, south of Medici Boulevard and north of Airport Road. Phase 1 will front Medici Boulevard and Luna Bella Lane. Phase 2 will front Luna Bella Lane and Airport Road.
A construction start date for the project has not been announced.
Venetian Bay has also broken ground on The Isles at Venetian Bay, a townhome community. And it is planning to add to its newest subdivision, The Palms at Venetian Bay, with the development of an additional 68 acres, Mr. Roy said.
Venetian Bay’s communities have a variety of homes along with an 18-hole championship golf course and a Beach and Swim Club. Restaurants, a spa and a fitness center are among several businesses in the Town Center building.
