Work on Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach Phase Two amenities will start within the next 30 days.
In addition to the existing Latitude Town Center amenities, Phase Two amenities include a Workin’ 'N Playin’ Center with Coconut Telegraph Business Center and Last Mango Theater for shows, dances and banquets. An indoor pool will be added to the Fins Up! Fitness Center.
Residents in this golf cart friendly community can tune up their rides at the new Hangar Workshop and canine residents will be pampered at the Barkaritaville Pet Spa. Phase Two outdoor amenities include five bocce ball courts, three more pickleball courts and two more tennis courts.
The Margaritaville brand is inspired by the lyrics and lifestyle of singer, songwriter and best-selling author Jimmy Buffett, whose songs evoke a passion for tropical escape and relaxation.
Despite the pandemic, sales of residences in Margaritaville have remained strong, said Bill Bullock, president of the developer, Minto Communities.
“In fact, sales have been unexpectedly record-setting. We sold over 50 homes in the last month,” Mr. Bullock said. “Now, more than ever, people are looking for the four pillars of the Latitude Margaritaville lifestyle — fun, food, music and, especially, escapism. We have built and closed on 1,019 homes to date, and have sold 1,445 to date. There are 3,400 homesites, and we are about halfway sold out.
“At Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach, we offer an incredible lifestyle program of fun, food and music that cannot be matched,” he said. “The amenities are world class and the homes are very affordable from the low $200,000s.”
Mr. Bullock added, “The residents of Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach are connected by a sense of fun and a desire to live in a community where an active lifestyle and socialization with friends and neighbors are a part of daily life. The iconic Daytona Beach location is highly desirable. Latitude Margaritaville is an exceptional value when you consider all of the things you get.”
It will take about a year to complete Phase Two amenities, he said. The private Beach Club on the Atlantic Ocean will be opening soon. As to safety, Latitude Margaritaville is a gated community. Masks and social distancing s currently are required and deep cleaning of common areas is ongoing. Since the governor has gone to phase 3 of reopening, the restaurant is at full capacity.
Lindsay Andreotti and her husband, Brian, couldn’t be happier about making the move from Seattle, Wash., to their new home in Margaritaville. They closed on their home Sept. 25 and are still unpacking.
“I think that Daytona Beach is one of the greatest places on earth. It’s like the 1950s just stayed here. You can enjoy it for the rest of your life,” Ms. Andreotti said. “I really like Latitude Margaritaville’s feel, the vibe. The people that come here don’t come here to die; they come here to live. I really love the houses. I wanted a house that felt like me and so that’s why I picked this one.”
She got an email from a relative saying they all needed to move to Daytona and “I ended up being the first one who did,” she said.
Ms. Andreotti is an executive life coach who is transitioning her business (Earth University) here. She added, “Everyone’s coming to visit; they’ve already called and made reservations”.
