Old Navy raises $1 million for Boys & Girls Clubs

More than 1,000 Old Navy stores nationwide and in Canada participated in a donation drive for the Boys & Girls Clubs recently.

The entire company raised $939,370 plus it donated an additional $350,000 bringing the total donation to more than $1.2 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

At the store level, 60 percent of the in-store donations go to local Boys & Girls Clubs. The Daytona Beach Old Navy store raised more than $1,600, winning the opening week contest by giving another $500 directly to John H. Dickerson Club in Daytona Beach.

Business bootcamp

The Volusia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Bold Business Breakthrough Bootcamp will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the Courtyard by Marriott, 308 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand.

Presenter will be Pat Knauer, CEO of Corner Office Enterprises LLC.

Tuition is $882 for members and $1,002 for non-members.

The six-month program is limited to 20 participants. Graduates will celebrate their accomplishment on board of a cruise ship sailing into the Bahamas for four days and three nights. Tuition includes cost of trip to Bahamas.

The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce will present a Business After Hours at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, hosted by the Plaza Resort & Spa, 600 N. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach.

The couple evacuated from Texas because of Hurricane Harvey in August 2017 and never left Ormond Beach. The Waldreps are Medical Massage Practitioners and concentrate on therapeutic massage techniques.

The Orthopedic Clinic welcomes new surgeon

Dr. Ross Smith, an orthopedic trauma surgeon, has joined The Orthopedic Clinic.
