The City of New Smyrna Beach is partnering with the City of Edgewater to host an indoor/outdoor job fair at Daytona State College's New Smyrna Beach-Edgewater Campus from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, at 940 Tenth St., New Smyrna Beach.

The Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce will host Chamber. Coffee. Connect., formerly new member orientation, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, May 21, at 165 W. Granada Blvd.

Ormond Outpost/LEVEL10 Performance Motorsports has moved to Suites 1 and 2 at 1095 N. U.S. 1 in Ormond Beach.

The 3,000-square-foot retail space is less than two miles from the former location on U.S. 1.

Ormond Outpost offers motorcycle, ATV/UTV, side-by-side, off-road, and golf cart parts and accessories, including a variety of motorcycle boots, helmets and the Fox and FLY Racing brands. The store also has marine parts and accessories, fishing gear, beer, and dog and cat toys.

Credit union offers free shred events

Launch Credit Union will host a series of free Shred Days at various offices.

Members of Launch CU and non-members are invited to stop by and have their papers shredded for free, up to five boxes, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the following branches on select dates:

•Wednesday, May 26: 240 N. Williamson Blvd., Ormond Beach

•Wednesday, June 2: 2290 S. Ridgewood Ave., South Daytona

•Wednesday, June 9: 2277 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Orange City

County government gets new accounting director

A nearly 13-year veteran of county government, Lynne Urice was selected as accounting director by the Volusia County Council.

Ms. Urice has been acting director since March 2020.

She started in the county’s purchasing division in August 2008 and then transferred to the accounting division in November 2010. Previously she served as the purchasing/supply coordinator for the Sanford Police Department and a procurement specialist for Seminole County.

A certified government finance officer since 2015, Ms. Urice has a bachelor of arts in business administration and accounting from Saint Leo University.

Chamber sets 2021 first responder awards

The West Volusia Regional Chamber of Commerce and Halifax Health will host the third annual First Responder Valor Awards May 26 at The Center at Deltona.

The awards recognize the women and men of Volusia County law enforcement, fire protection and emergency medical service nominated by their peers.

Salon leases at Enterprise Plaza in Orange City

Hold-Thyssen Inc., which leases and manages Enterprise Plaza in Orange City, recently closed on a five-year lease with Salon Centric, a distributor of salon professional products at 2499 Enterprise Road.

Darby Hold, senior director at Hold-Thyssen, negotiated the long-term lease on behalf of the Michigan-based landlord, Florida Premier-Enterprise LLC.

Salon Centric has more than 565 stores throughout the country, has been in the area for more than 18 years.
