Beach Street building sold in Daytona Beach

Brad Gifford, an associate at NAI Realvest | Charles Wayne recently represented the owner, the Charles K. Slaughter Jr. Trust, of a riverfront retail property located at 160 S. Beach St. in Daytona Beach.

The buyer, Thoroughbred Classics, LLC paid $450,000 for the 6,708-square-foot, single-story retail building. The buyer was represented by Carl Lentz of SVN Alliance.

The property is leased to a physical therapist and a jewelry store.

Chamber Alliance to host Summer Series

The Volusia County Chamber Alliance will host a Summer Series Mega Power Hour, presented by Adams Cameron & Co., in July.

The three-part virtual summer series will feature keynote speakers on topics critical to business.

AdventHealth creates new leadership position

AdventHealth has created a new leadership role and promoted Dr. Neil Finkler to serve as chief clinical officer for the Central Florida Division, which includes Flagler, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole and Volusia counties.

As chief clinical officer, Dr. Finkler will lead clinical care across the seven-county region that includes nearly 6,000 physicians and advance practice providers.

He is board certified in obstetrics oncology and gynecologic oncology, has served in multiple leadership and teaching positions at AdventHealth, Boston University School of Medicine, Harvard Medical School and the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. He also was principle investigator for all GYN Oncology Group clinical trials, a National Cancer Institute cooperative.

After completing his medical training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York (now renamed Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai), Dr. Finkler conducted his OB-GYN residency and fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Finkler joined AdventHealth Orlando in 1992 where he founded the gynecologic oncology program and fellowship program.

NASCAR partners with United Rentals

NASCAR and United Rentals, the largest equipment rental company in the world, announced a multiyear partnership that will designate it as the “Official Rental Equipment Partner of NASCAR” beginning in 2022.

The wide-ranging agreement will span across the sanctioning body and NASCAR-owned facilities.

The brand also will be the “Official Heavy Power Rental Equipment Company of NASCAR” and the “Official Port-O-Let Partner of NASCAR.”

Surgeon honored by system maker

Dr. Kelly L. Molpus of Halifax Health Center for Oncology recently completed his 1,500 surgery using the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.

Dr. Molpus was presented with a crystal plaque to commemorate the milestone by Intuitive, the company behind the surgical system.

Dr. Molpus joined Halifax Health in 2005, and was instrumental in bringing the da Vinci® robotic surgical system to Halifax Health. The first surgery using the da Vinci was Jan. 12, 2007.
