The Boardwalk Merchants and Friends of the Bandshell will present Absolute Queen and Ultimate Def Leppard tribute bands at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the Daytona Beach Bandshell, 70 Boardwalk.
One band does tributes to Def Leppard and Queen.
As one of the world's biggest bands, Def Leppard has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, and has two albums with RIAA diamond certification, “Pyromania” and “Hysteria.” They are one of only five rock bands with two original studio albums selling more than 10 million copies in the U.S. The band was ranked No. 31 in VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" and ranked No. 70 in "100 Greatest Artists Of All Time."
Ultimate Def Leppard delivers real concert experience, soaring vocals and big sing-along hits. Rock out to “Photograph,” “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Rock Of Ages” and “Foolin.'”
Absolute Queen is a fantastic recreation of a Queen concert with note-for-note guitars and incredible vocal harmonies and all of the hits and bombast to take concert attendees back to those huge arena shows.
Lead vocalist Martyn Jenkins performed for years across Europe as Freddie in the show “Night at the Opera,” performing for the Queen Fan club and Brian May and Roger Taylor. The band also features Chris Kinder on percussion, well known for playing, touring and recording music for Jon Oliva, the mastermind behind Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Attendees can expect to rock out to Queen’s greatest hits, such as “We Will Rock You,” “We Are The Champions,” “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Killer Queen,” “Somebody To Love,” “Fat Bottomed Girls,” “Bicycle Race,” “You're My Best Friend” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
There will be fireworks after the show.
The public may bring the entire family. However, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, attendees will not be allowed to bring their own chairs as seating will be pre-arranged for social distancing. Face masks are optional.
Reserved and VIP seat tickets are available online on Ticketmaster. Reserved seats are $4 each and VIP seats are $10 each. Tickets also will be available on the day of the show at the Bandshell box office starting at noon until seats sell out.
Bandshell parking is available at the nearby Ocean Center garage and surface lots.
