ABBA MANIA, a tribute group for ABBA, will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Peabody Auditorium, 600 Auditorium Blvd.
ABBA, the Swedish pop group, was formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. From 1974 to 1982, they topped music charts worldwide as one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of pop music.
Created in 1999, the tribute group is a chance for people of all ages to enjoy timeless songs, such as “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo,” “Mamma Mia,” “The Winner Takes it All,” “Super Trouper,” “Fernando” and “Take A Chance On Me.”
ABBA MANIA will venture on their eighth tour in the U.S. with 30 shows in six weeks, including a performance at the Smith Centre in Las Vegas.
United States members include Amy Edwards as Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Kirbi Jo Long as Agnetha Fältskog, James Allen as Björn Ulvaeus and Jeff Pike as Benny Andersson.
