Daytona Playhouse will present “Sleeping Beauty” at 2 p.m. July 13-14 and 20-21, at 100 Jessamine Blvd., Daytona Beach.

The Kingdom of Volucy is in peril. The Queen (Jaylen Walton) and the King (Isaac Jordan) are broke and need to marry off their daughter Beauty (Julia Ambrose) to a rich Prince. Along comes Prince Braveheart (Eric Weeks), but, alas, he is a poor prince and rich Princes Horatio of Hobbly Hill and Billy of Bilgewater are favored by the King and Queen.

The evil witch Scariebosse (Michelle Marie Lecza) has other plans for Beauty. Can the good fairy Fora (Chrissy Alexander) undo the evil curse? Witches, fairies, dueling Princes and Squires galore along with lots of funny wonderful songs and beautiful dancing.

A family show that involves the audience as the Jesters (Lauren Mitchell and Sydney Sprangel) encourage them to cheer the hero and boo the witch.

Come dressed as a favorite fairy tale character and meet the cast after the show.

Shows are 2 p.m. Tickets are $13 adults and $7 youth. Written and directed by Kathy Thompson with vocal and choreography by Ashley King.
