Wheel of Margaritaville

Game show contestant Laura Trammell won a new home on an episode of Wheel of Fortune recently.

For the first time ever, a “Wheel of Fortune” contestant won a new home in the bonus round.

And that new home will be in a Latitude Margaritaville community.

Wheel of Fortune and Latitude Margaritaville partnered to offer the new home to contestants and viewers during the week of April 26-30.

Laura Trammell of Mission Viejo, Calif., April 27 became the first person to ever win a new home on the show. Just being eligible to win a home came as a pleasant surprise to her.

But upon winning the home, she said “Appearing on ‘Wheel of Fortune’ has been an unbelievable blessing! Winning some money and a trip was all I had hoped for, but honestly, winning this home surpassed all my expectations and dreams! It has been so fun to be able to finally share this with my family, friends, colleagues, and my sixth grade class!”

Ms. Trammell is married with four children. She recently learned American Sign Language and now teaches it to her students. She was inspired to learn by members of her family and a former student who are deaf. She will travel to the Latitude Margaritaville communities soon, which include Daytona Beach, to select her home.

In a news release, it was stated the first person she planned to tell of the win was her husband, Dave. Immediately following the taping, she called him to share the news. “Oh my God! Wow! You went on Wheel and you won a home?!?! You’re awesome,” he responded.

The couple plans to tour some Latitude Margaritaville communities in May to solidify their plans. In total, Ms. Trammell won $398,690 in cash and prizes, including a trip to Margaritaville Vacation Club St. Thomas.

In an expansion of the long-time relationship, Wheel of Fortune partnered with Minto Communities and Margaritaville to add a home envelope to the Bonus Wheel, giving all contestants appearing during “Home Sweet Home” week the opportunity to win a new home valued at $375,000 in Latitude Margaritaville, which is a 55-and-older active adult community.

Viewers also were given the opportunity to win a new home of their own with the “Home Sweet Home Giveaway.” All that was required to enter was for viewers to tune in to Wheel of Fortune each night April 26-30, take note of the Bonus Round puzzle solution and input it at wheeloffortune.com for an entry.

The news release further states that “Reaching more than 25 million weekly viewers, Wheel of Fortune reaches more viewers than any other program on television. Trademarked as America’s Game, it has earned seven Emmy Awards, including a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show.”

Latitude Margaritaville is a new portfolio of active adult communities developed by the global lifestyle brand Margaritaville and master developer Minto Communities. Offering resort-style amenities, Latitude Margaritaville is showcased as the ideal destination for those looking to live the Margaritaville lifestyle as they “grow older, but not up.” The communities include single-family, villa and cottage homes. Ranked the nation’s most popular active adult community of 2018 by 55Places.com, and 2019’s Best 55+ Community of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders, additional Latitude Margaritaville communities are planned for some of the nation’s most popular destinations. Expansion continues in Daytona Beach with additional homes being built.
