Tom Petty and his music are intertwined with American culture.
He wrote and recorded songs that became the soundtrack to millions of people's lives, becoming a universally revered star in the process, and at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, Free Fallin will honor his memory at the Athens Theatre, 124 Florida Ave., DeLand.
Free Fallin has been performing Mr. Petty’s music throughout the country for more than 11 years, and along the way have evolved into a complete and spectacular live music production. Their show, featuring all the best hits of Mr. Petty, includes the instruments and costumes that recreate the authentic experience of a Tom Petty concert. This band delivers a professional and entertaining experience for any Tom Petty fan or live music fan.
Free Fallin’s 2018 “Broken Hearted Tour” last year played more than 90 shows in 15 states, which included an invitation to play for Tom Petty’s “Birthday Weekend” in October in his hometown of Gainesville.
