Uncle John's Band

Uncle John's Band, a Grateful Dead tribute band, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, July 12, at the Daytona Beach Bandshell.

Rock tribute bands for the Grateful Dead and Journey will take to the stage July 12-13 at Daytona Beach’s Bandshell.

Grateful Dead tribute, “Uncle John’s Band,” will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, July 12. Journey tribute, “Never Stop Believin’,” will perform at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, July 13, with fireworks at 9:45 p.m.

Uncle John’s Band is the Southeast's premier Grateful Dead tribute experience, keeping the fire aglow since 1989. At the 2015 50-year anniversary reunion of the Grateful Dead at Soldier Field in Chicago, Uncle John's Band had the great honor of playing three afternoon shows at the Field Museum adjacent to Soldier Field.

The show is part of the Bandshell Summer Entertainment Series. The entire schedule of performances is online at DaytonaBandshell.com.

Journey tribute, “Never Stop Believin’,” has the look and sound of Journey from the '70s and '80s. It starts with the Evolution and Departure albums in 1978 and then moves into the mid-1980s look with a costume change and showcases the Escape - Frontiers albums tour. Never Stop Believin’ is fronted by the vocals and presence of Billy Lindley, who looks and sounds just like Steve Perry.

The show is part of the Star Spangled Summer Concert Series made possible by the Boardwalk merchants and Friends of the Bandshell.

VIP tickets are available for $10 per person per show and include a chair and seating near the stage in a controlled access area. Buy VIP tickets at ticketmaster.com, at the Peabody Auditorium Box Office at 600 Auditorium Blvd., Daytona Beach, and at the Bandshell’s box office on show nights. For Saturday night’s performance, tickets also can be purchased onsite on show nights though the Friends of the Bandshell staff.

Adult beverages will be available to buy both nights. The Bandshell signature drink, the “Bandshell Breeze,” is available as well as Budweiser products. Barbecue from Backyard Boys catering is offered onsite. Chairs are available for rent in the free general admission area, one for $3 or two for $5. For attendees’ safety and comfort, guests are not allowed to bring backpacks, blankets, coolers, glass containers or outside alcohol. Smoking or vaping are not allowed inside the Bandshell.

Parking for the Bandshell is available across the street from the Ocean Walk Shoppes & Movies in the parking garage and surface lots close by.
