Volusia County Fair

A performance by Chubby Checker will highlight the Volusia County Fair Nov. 7 to 17 at 3150 E. New York Ave., DeLand.

Mr. Checker will perform at 3 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, during Senior Day.

Opening night will include the Miss Volusia County Fair Pageant featuring Reed Foley at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Tommy Lawrence Area. Ride bracelets are $25 until 9 p.m. The breeding swine show will be at 7 p.m.

Coca-Cola Night is Friday, Nov. 8. Students 18 and younger with proper identification are admitted from 4 to 7 p.m. for $5 with a Coca-Cola canned product. Ride bracelets will be $20. The breeding ewe show will be at 6 p.m. in the Townsend Livestock Pavilion.

Actions Sports Live freestyle BMX and skateboarding show will be at 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. Ride bracelets are $30 and will be sold until 7 p.m. No advanced ride bracelets accepted. Breeding heifers shows including cow/calf, European/Continental, Florida Commercial Brahman will start at 5 p.m.

Family day is Sunday, Nov. 10. Amateur talent show will be at 1 p.m. Ride bracelets will be $20. Poultry contests will start at 11 a.m.

Veterans and service men and women will be admitted free when showing identification Monday, Nov. 11. Participants who bring in three cans of food for Second Harvest will get $2 off admission. Ride bracelets will be $20. Market lam show will start at 7 p.m.

Senior day is Tuesday, Nov. 12. The fair opens at 1 p.m. Seniors get in for $10 until 7 p.m.

Tuesday is also Student Day. Gate admission is $5 from 4 to 7 p.m. for students 18 and younger. Ride all rides for $2 per ride. No advanced ride bracelet accepted. Market Swine show will start at 6 p.m.

Volusia Recycles Night is Wednesday, Nov. 13. Bring a recyclable can or plastic bottle and receive $1 off admission. Ride bracelets will be $20 until 7 p.m. Prospect steer show will start at 7 p.m. and market steer at 8 p.m.

Gates open at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov.14. The livestock auction, featuring lamb, steer and swine will be 6 p.m.

Goat showmanship show will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15. Ride bracelets are $20 Thursday and Friday nights.

Ride bracelets are $30 Saturday, Nov. 16, and will be sold until 7 p.m.. No advanced ride bracelets accepted. Dairy goat show will be at noon; dwarf goat show, 1 p.m.; meat goat show, 2 p.m.; market meat goat show, 3 p.m. and goat costume show, 7 p.m.

First Responders Day is Sunday, Nov. 17. First responders admitted free with identification. Gates open at 11 a.m. Ride bracelets will be $20. Rabbit and guinea pig contest will be at 11 a.m.

General admission for ages 13 and older is $12, children 6 to 12, $8; and free for children 5 and younger with an adult.

Fair opens are 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Sunday Nov. 17, the fair is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
